the lobby of nbc

There is a glass case by the elevators with various “gag” products, books and board games with Mad-Magazine style puns for titles. I’ve written for NBC on and off for over ten years, and the glass case has been there in the lobby the whole time. I worked on the John Larroquette show, had a pilot go into production before the plug was pulled at the last minute, swore to never work for NBC again, and have written a couple more pilots for them since then. Lipstick Jungle is an NBC show. In the time I’ve worked for NBC, there have been four or five network presidents. They disagree about practically everything, they change each other’s schedules just to prove their autonomy. They only agree on one thing. The glass case in the lobby with the joke products is gold. The glass case works. The glass case stays.
