Meet a Punk-Rock Future Pastor
My tailor friend Yvonne suggested I talk to Jil Bucceroni, the parish administrator at St. John’s here in Hoboken. I’m really glad she did, as Jil is quite the cool character. Here’s my interview with her from the January/February issue of hMAG.
Frank Sinatra Walking Tour in Hoboken
These brown bucks were made for walking, so that’s just what I did. In honor of Frank Sinatra’s upcoming 100th birthday, I took the Hoboken Historical Museum’s self-guided Sinatra walking tour. And, shockingly enough, I wrote up my humorous observations for the December issue of hMAG.
I didn’t write this one.
But I took the photo! Look, I got a credit and everything.
I’ve Been Blurbed!
Remember my review of The American Side last year? Well, I’ve been blurbed in their Kickstarter campaign video! OK, sure, I’m one of few who’s had a chance to see the completed film thus far. But it is getting a theatrical release in the spring, and you can help get it onto more screens! Go […]
Keep Liberty State Park Free and Green
Here’s a preview article I wrote for the Jersey City Independent, about a protest event scheduled for this Sunday, November 1. The goal is to keep Liberty State Park out of the hands of developers. There will be a bike ride, bands, kites, food trucks, and face painting for the kids. Come on out for […]
Meet Eddie Clemens of the Agency Group
Here’s an interview I conducted for the September/October issue of hMAG. Was interesting to talk with someone involved in booking concert tours at a level far above the indie shows I obsessively attend.
FBW’s 25th Anniversary
A terrific nonprofit group I do a little volunteering for here in Hoboken is the Fund for a Better Waterfront. On Thursday, October 22, they will be celebrating their 25th anniversary, with a gala at the local Elks Club. I wrote a short preview of the event for hMAG.com.
The Ghost of Uncle Joe’s Returns
Live music and dead people: Seeing bands in a 19th-century cemetery is pretty awesome. I finally made it to the annual “Ghost of Uncle Joe’s” fundraising show last year, and I was honored to write a preview of this year’s event for the Jersey City Independent.
Rockin’ Joaquin: A Pre-Hurricane Playlist
hMAG.com asked me to create a Joaquin-themed playlist, which I also annotated. Stay safe, everybody.
